Heightlings Privacy Policy
- We don't collect any of your data. We have no servers, accounts, analytics or ads.
- Your children's names, birthdays, heights and characters stay on your devices and in your own iCloud.
- Heightlings never saves or uploads the photo you take for a character.
What the app stores
Heightlings stores what you enter: each child's name, birthday, sex, chosen color, height records, optional parent heights, and the cartoon character made for them. This is kept on your iPhone and, if iCloud is turned on, synced through your own private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. ImaginaDev LLC cannot see or access it.
Camera and LiDAR
The camera and LiDAR sensor are used to measure your child's height and to take a photo for their character. Measurements are calculated on your iPhone. Camera images used for measuring are not saved.
Character photos and Image Playground
To make a character, the photo you choose is handed to Apple's Image Playground, which creates a cartoon image. Heightlings keeps only the finished character, never the photo. Image Playground is provided by Apple: depending on your iPhone and iOS version, it may process the request on your device or on Apple's Private Cloud Compute servers. That processing is covered by Apple's privacy policy, not by ImaginaDev LLC, and we receive nothing from it.
Face data
Heightlings does not collect, share or sell face data, and it does not use face recognition or Face ID.
When a character is made, Heightlings uses Apple's Vision framework on your iPhone to find where the face is in the finished cartoon, so the round profile picture is centered on it. Only the position of that area (four numbers) is saved with the character. No facial features, measurements or identifying information are created or kept, and the original photo is never saved.
When measuring, the app uses ARKit's person outline and LiDAR depth on your iPhone to separate your child from the background. This uses the body's outline, not facial features, and nothing from the camera is saved.
The character and its face position stay on your iPhone and in your own private iCloud. They are never sent to ImaginaDev LLC or any third party, and they are kept only until you delete the character, the child or the app (see Deleting your data).
Purchases
Heightlings Plus is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We don't receive your payment details or Apple Account information.
Backups and exports
When you use Back up or Export, the app creates a file and hands it to the iOS share sheet. Where that file goes is your choice. We never receive a copy.
Children's privacy
Heightlings is made for parents and caregivers, not for children to use on their own. We don't collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Deleting your data
You can delete a child, a height record or a character at any time in the app. Deleting the app removes its data from your iPhone. To remove the iCloud copy, go to Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, then Manage Storage (or Storage), and delete the Heightlings data.
Health information
Heightlings compares heights with published CDC and WHO growth standards for general information. It is not a medical device and does not give medical advice. Talk to your pediatrician about any concerns.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
